Nightmares

...not about Monsters, but FROGS. Yes Lil Sis has been having nightmares lately about a frog. DH found her earlier this week in bed at 2am huddled under the covers shaking and screaming about a monster frog. Our hero (DH) slew the frog and calmed her down with promises of protection. We thought that might do the trick, but...

Last night about 1 hr after going to bed I found her sobbing and huddled under the blanket trying to hide from the "frog". She even frighten our little friend M when she came over for a play date telling her all about the monster frog in our house. I had to convince a crying M that we did not have a monster frog in the house. Lil Sis talks about this frog constantly like he really lives and breathes. I guess for her he does.

From what we have deducted from Lil Sis' description of the frog it may look something like this frog. She was very specific about the red feet and eyes. I wasn't sure if a frog like that existed well sure enough you can Google anything and find it. So this is what is haunting her dreams. Any tips on helping to stop the nightmares?

I thought it would be fun to find out what has haunted your dreams. So post a comment and let me know. I'm interested to hear your stories.

Lil sis has quite the imagination! I did have a really bad dream that I lost Kai but the worst part about the dream was that I really couldn't remember if I had him with me or not and when I remembered I felt awful that I could forget my own child. I woke up and ran to check on my kids. The dreams of a paranoid Mom I guess!

I have this terrible dream that I am back in high school or college. It very a little bit each time. But the jist of it is that I show up for the final realizing that I hadn't gone to any of the class and therefore don't even know what is on the test. And of course this is me as a 30 year old having to go back to high school b/c for some reason I didn't really graduate and had one more year to complete. I always feel so out of place with all the teenagers of course.

Ugh, when will I grow out of this dream?

Eva, Tell our dear little Kat that grandma has two of these dear little frogs as the picture inside her telephone. If Grandma thinks they are adorable how scary can they be!

Freddy Kruger. Past boyfriends. Killer cats. But no frogs, thank goodness.

I told my mother-in-law about this and she told me to tell you to tell Lil sis that the frog is really a prince that is looking for a princess to kiss him and is there to see if she will kiss him since she is a princess. The frog is nothing to be afraid of and will find another princess if she does not want to kiss him.

I have the terrors about my kids being in the car when my car is car-jacked and i can't get them out. I HATE those nightmares - i totally relate to Kat's fear. Trey has night terrors about trains running over his feet and he wakes up and is CONVINCED that his feet hurt. I don't know if he dreams it because his feet hurt, or he thinks his feet hurt because of the dream. Either way, medicine is the only thing that will get him back to sleep. (judge me in silence, please).
